ON-SITE HEMODIAYSIS

On-Site Hemodialysis (HD) is a treatment for kidney failure also called end stage renal disease (ESRD), that occurs at stage 5 chronic kidney disease (CKD). The basic process is exactly the same as In-Center and Home Hemodialysis, only it's done “On-Site” of a healthcare facility such as a skilled nursing home, sub-acute, assisted living, congregate living where a patient may be residing.

On-site home hemodialysis is a growing movement in which dialysis providers and Skilled Nursing Facilities are partnering to offer Skilled Nursing Facility patients requiring dialysis with on-site treatments in the Skilled Nursing Facility they reside.

Desert Cities Dialysis and High Desert Nephrology are now partnering up with Skilled Nursing Facilities and other Healthcare Facilities to provide Hemodialysis treatments to our patients who may be residing in a skilled nursing home, rehabilitation, assisted living, and congregate living facilities.

IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN DIFFERENTIATING YOUR HEALTHCARE FACILITY'S PATIENT SERVICES AND OPTIMIZING YOUR PATIENT CARE, ON-SITE HEMODIALYSIS MAY BE FOR YOUR FACILITY!

Benefits of On-Site Home Hemodialysis

On-site home hemodialysis eliminates the need for transportation to off-site dialysis treatments, usually at least three times per week. For patients who may not be able to tolerate abrupt hemodynamic changes often associated with conventional hemodialysis three times per week, on-site home hemodialysis offers individualized treatment options, including more frequent therapy when medically necessary.

Benefits of More Frequent Hemodialysis

On-Site Home Hemodialysis enables individualized treatment options, including more frequent hemodialysis when medically justified.

The benefits of more frequent hemodialysis are widely recognized. The slower filtration rates used in more frequent hemodialysis provide a gentler treatment and are associated with lower mortality rates and reduced cardiovascular-related hospitalizations.

Possible additional clinical benefits includes:

  • Improved recovery time

  • Improved fluid management

  • Less stress on the heart

  • Enhanced sleep quality

  • Reduction in antihypertensive medications

  • Improves health-related quality of life
